God's Own Country? for God's sake!

"Bharathamenna peru kettal abhimaana poorithamakanam antharangam
Keralam ennu kettalo thilakkanam chora namukku njarambukalil"
(When you hear the name India, Your soul should swell with pride
When you hear the word Kerala, the blood should boil in your veins)
By Mahakavi Vallathol Narayana Menon (1878–1958) Mahakavyam, Chithrayogam.

No longer does name Kerala bring pride to your soul or deep within or the blood in your veins swelling bubbles in rapture. Not any more. But yes, there are enough and more instances where blood shed profusely over its godly soil and eroded tad easily from the minds of its people and its rulers.

Especially after the recent incident of one of the most ruthless, heinous, cold-blooded crime against a single human-being by about half a dozen armed, inhuman, satanic versions of two-legged evil, who call them social workers, political army or mere quotation group who would unleash their deep-hidden blood-ridden extremism to the fore for the sake of cheap heap of black currency or to keep the political chairs intact and to keep the interests of capitalist mafia. One of the equally notorious incident happened in the recent past was when a School teacher was taken on to an equally cold-blooded murder in front of his students,  the shock of which would still be in their young minds, hard to heal for a horrid long time.

Now the question is what the victim had done to provoke whoever the culprits are, to do such an atrocious act which poured dirt over the image of God's own Country, with lush green quilted under its skies to thick red blood spread over its path? Being true to himself? Or revolted against a party or its beliefs when he completely lost his faith in? But for a common man, it is nothing but cowardice from the culprits part or whoever behind this, to face him bravely in his new role or with his new beliefs and the lack of confidence to prove him wrong. Or they're scared that he will expose them or uncover their hidden image or agenda? Or the common rule of nature that the big has the right to eat up the small as its prey just when they mushroom up?

Who has given the right to do this so freely? The country with the largest law system in the world - where more the rules mean bigger the loopholes?  Or the people who rule the country where their criminal record status adds to the qualification of MLA or MP?  Or only for the nation's ruler's uniform, the word 'retirement' does not apply? As long they have money with them and the scratch-back-capitalists to back them, though conditionally, they can get anything done. From a mere Panchayat Member to the Numero Uno Citizen of the nation dreams of development and money-making-ventures for self, ahead of their village or country.

Why the so-called 'underworld' which was a minuscule entity a few decades ago, dug out deep down the ground and fairly away from common man's world, has now grown to capture the common world by expanding itself to a long list of quotation groups spread across nook and corner of every small streets and adding aam janta (common man)  an integral part of it – thanks to the high unemployment rate and the handsome package that comes with the profession – 'Live Life Minister Size',  by and large ignorant that they have to eventually die like a street dog. Doesn’t the current system equally responsible for this phenomenon? When lion's share of country's development allotment spent on  the game of politics and its caretakers, don’t they know that they can not hide anything any longer from the intelligent literate youth?

Now, what is left there to stay positive - the fact that we still are the highest literate section of people in the country, comparatively though, or almost nil cases of female foeticide or we live fairly peacefully and secularly, devoid of 'honor killing' or 'communal riots'?

A request to people of 'God's own Country' - stop these inhuman activities once and for all -  For literate doesn’t always mean 'those who can read and write', but those who can unlearn and re-learn, those who can live and let live, those who can understand that this land is not anyone's inheritance nor the real estate of few street-smart and merciless mafia!
