Why Adwin Kris?

The over-confident bragger in me had once eureka'ed and immediately fixed a boy's name, Adwin Krishnan, for the second child we planned, much before its inception, in rhyme with the first one, Ritwik Krishnan. But ultimately, à la almighty had some better plan for us and in culmination we had a tom-boyish daughter few years later. In a bid not to waste the creative and 'innovative product' that I had with me, I thought I will have to use it somewhere. But again, I shortened it a bit as ‘Adwin Kris’, which will sound exactly like ‘Edwin Chris’. Not only that, ‘Kris’ or Chris is the shortened version of a prominent Hindu and Christian God so hopefully this name would have a bit of God’s grace too.

I didn't want to have my own name for my webpage; first and foremost, in case of any criticism, only the fictitious Adwin Kris will be responsible and not the actual writer (jokes). Secondly, the name should have a bit of international appeal and uniqueness and should leave the reader to guess of its origin.  

Young married men would have surely faced this daily grumble from their partner – any wife for that matter, my wife being no exception, always complain that her husband is wasting time in blogging, surfing net, watching cricket, singing karaoke or enjoying his time on recreational activities. Or which wife would enjoy her husband having a good time, all with himself!

They consider these activities as non-sense which yields no returns - when you look at it in a materialistic way, it is absolutely right. Another viewpoint is husbands can as well use this valuable time in helping them in household works – justifiable to the core. Especially in a nuclear family where both are working, it is considered as their birth-right that husbands should share fifty per cent of the day-to-day chores, at the least. Next complaint is that why don't you sleep on a decent time? But since I am partially insomniac - prefer to work at the wee hours of night and even if I sleep for a good four hours, enough for me. So sleep and little bit of domestic help wouldn't be affected.

An excuse male partner would give why they purposefully shy away from home affairs, is that their love and care towards wife that they can not imagine anyone except their wife as home-maker, ruler of a kingdom where king, queen and pawn are just one person, planning and executing all actions; and that this is the only way they can burn their accumulated fat, cholesterol and sugar (yes they are extra-sweet as they’re Mothers too) is by running behind the children, moving around in the kitchen, gardening or keeping the home tidy and neat or otherwise, with gossiping on phone or scrolling down the facebook posts hardly help burning cheese and butter reserve in their heaps and curves. So they should actually think that it is a blessing in disguise.
